QUALIFY AS A FILM INSTALLER

STEPS

SFI builds lasting partnerships with film installers. We offer in-depth guidance and continuous support throughout the smart film installation process on existing windows.

In order to qualify as a Film Installer, we recommend the following steps:
This installation is DRY Stick and it usually takes for an experienced film installer 3-4 installations to reach the optimal installation quality.

01 | Unpacking & Testing the Film
  • Open the box carefully and put all films on the long table.
  • Connect each film to the power via the transformer and verify all work fine. 
03 | Connecting to Power
  • Connecting a 48 VAC transformers with remote or switch or both.
  • Need to weld film wires to the power 
02 | Sticking Expertise
  • It is a DRY stick…no water allowed; Industrial Alcohol 90% is allowed
  • Need to clean the glass and film stick side very well, like 2/3 of installation time is glass cleaning
  • Installer needs patience and persistence, not every technical guy fits…
  • To stick the film edge you may need a hair fan to soften the film
04 | Visual & Profiles
  • Client usually expects you to handle not only the film stick but also the frame
  • It is recommended to have a film edge under the frame or the rubber.
  • If not possible to hide the film edge under the frame, look for creative ways to hide it with a tape or a panel.

BEFORE installation of adhesive film, please read carefully our Installation Guide

 IN ORDER TO BE QUALIFIED AS A FILM INSTALLER, WE RECOMMEND THE  FOLLOWING STEPS 

  • Buy several A4 size samples, ready to plug in to the power.
  • With these samples you may achieve the following:
  • Showing to potential clients and customers
  • Sticking over a glass
Making several pilots over in your offices

For that purpose, it is recommended:
 
  • Choosing ~5 small size windows in your office with access to power.
  • Reduce 3mm from each of the 4 sides.
  • If need to cut in for handles or hinges, make a drawing and we will make the cuts
     
Our shipment to you will include:
 
  • ​Film cut per your size with wires already prepared
  • Transformer – output 48/60 VAC – switch + remote
  • Squeezers – tool to make the stick
  • Leftover films to train
  • Installation Guide/Video/Tips
  • Neutral No Alkoxy No ACID Silicone. Silicone MUST be one of these (no warranty for using other brand):
  • Dow Corning: 795, 799, 995, 1199
  • Toshiba: 83, 381
Making a first project with a real client...
Only after Step C is successful we recommend to start
commercially pushing the product.
