Hollow smart glass, also referred to as hollow glass, is a type of insulated glass unit (IGU), commonly known as double-layered glass, with a thickness of about 25 millimeters. It features two panes of glass with a special material sandwiched in between, much like a window with built-in blinds. This unique design allows the IGU glass to switch from clear to frosted, offering privacy on demand with a simple switch or even automatic controls. Additionally, this innovative insulated glass unit helps block heat and noise, making your home more energy-efficient and comfortable.

What power supply is needed for IGU Smart Glass?
IGU Smart Glass typically requires a 48 VAC. We provide certified power units with various capacities to accommodate different project sizes. Our Power unit includes remote control and hard wire for Smart Home/Office system or a wall switch.
Where can IGU Smart Glass be used?'
IGU Smart Glass can be used in a variety of settings, including residential homes, commercial buildings, offices, hotels, and hospitals.
What is a typical IGU Smart Glass structure?
When structuring IGU Smart Glass for exterior use or as acoustic glass we add air space and a Low-E outer glass. We offer the following glass structures as standard Smart Glass 12mm (1/2") or 14mm (35/64") total thickness is offered with 6mm (15/64"), 9mm (23/64"), 12mm (1/2") or 15mm (19/32") air space and an outer pane of a Low-E glass of 5mm (13/64") or 6mm (15/64"). Total IGU Smart Glass is between 24mm (15/16") and 35mm (1 3/8") or custom.
Are there any acoustic benefits associated with IGU Smart Glass?
IGU Smart Glass is indeed an effective acoustic product due to its composition. It typically consists of two glass layers, two interlayers, and a 5 layers film comprising a total of 9 layers. The acoustic rating of Standard Smart Glass is 37 dB, while IGU Smart Glass results with an impressive rating of 47 dB. This layered construction effectively reduces sound transmission, making Smart Glass an excellent choice for environments where noise reduction is a priority.
Can Smart Glass direct sunlight?
Our Adhesive Smart Film product can be exposed to sunlight as it features an extra UV-blocking layer, allowing it to be installed both internally and on façades./n Our standard Smart Glass product, which is a triplex, should not be exposed to direct sunlight. For applications where the Smart glass is facing direct sunlight we offer Insulated Glass Unit (IGU) Smart Glass.
