LAMINATED SMART FILM
A smart film glass laminators
LAMINATED SMART FILM
TECHNOLOGY
Hollow smart glass is basically a type of insulated glass unit (IGU), also known as double-layered glass, that's about 25 millimetres thick. Imagine two panes of glass with a special material sandwiched in between, just like a window with built-in blinds. This space lets the glass change from clear to frosted, giving you privacy on demand by using a switch or even automatic controls. This fancy glass also helps keep the heat and sound out, making your home more comfortable and energy-efficient

FAQ
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What Smart Film formats are available?
The available formats are either cut-to-size, ready for lamination, or standard rolls with the following available widths:
1 meter (app. 39")
1.2 meters (app. 47")
1.5 meters (app. 59")
1.8 meters (app. 71")
2 meters (app. 79")
Please contact us for specific roll widths available for your project or to inquire about custom sizes.
What material is used as an interlayer film in laminated smart glass?
The recommended interlayer for the smart film lamination process is ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA), which offers excellent adhesion and durability, ensuring a stable and long-lasting lamination.
What is the recommended lamination profile of smart film?
Laminating smart film requires the use of a vacuum bag and an oven. The entire lamination process takes approximately 3.5 hours, with the following conditions:
Temperature Range: 65 to 120°C (149 to 248°F)
Pressure Range: 50 to 200 kPa (7.25 to 29 psi)
For a detailed lamination process, please contact us.
What are the most important points when laminating smart film?
The most important points when laminating smart film are: Uniform Heating: Ensure uniform heating to prevent thermal gradients that can cause stress and potential defects in the laminated glass. Air Removal: Properly remove air bubbles during the pre-pressing stage to avoid delamination or visual defects. Cooling: Controlled cooling is crucial to prevent thermal shock and ensure the longevity of the laminated smart glass. By following these guidelines, you can achieve high-quality lamination of smart switchable films within the glass, ensuring durability, functionality, and aesthetic appeal.
How do I cut smart film and apply copper tape for lamination?
The preparation of smart film for lamination includes cutting the film to the desired size with a trimming table, exposing the conductive layers, applying silver paste and copper tape, and finally soldering wires to the copper tape.
